Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool." (Isaiah 1:18)

God desires to reason with us. I have heard many people say that God gave us a brain to use.  Indeed, now it is up to us to ask Him for His reasoning in our lives.

"Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked." (Psalm 91:8)

To understand what reward the wicked receive, we have to first know what reward God is willing to give those who are obedient to Him. God's early followers got this information from Deuteronomy 28 where God describes His blessings and curses. Within the blessings and curses, God describes living on the planet in a very practical sense, in which physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of life are either blessed or cursed. I can therefore, see the curse thriving on the planet today (or the reward of the wicked), as I first saw it in my own life. Many today are living cursed, wrestling with it and are blinded to it to the point of attempting to make sense of it and attempting to fix it themselves. A powerful example that comes to mind is inflammation. Inflammation? Yes, God says this:

"The Lord will strike you with consumption, with fever, with inflammation, with severe burning fever, with the sword, with scorching, and with mildew; they shall pursue you until you perish." (Deut. 28:22)

Physical Life Affected:

This is not some mystical aspect of life, however, it is an aspect of what is currently occurring to most today.I have heard many pathologists (the docs that study the cause of death) over the years, and they have all concurred that the leading cause of death is...are you ready for it...INFLAMMATION! What!? Hmm... If it sounds familiar, it is because it is! However, we highly intelligent beings have found ways to keep from perishing because of inflammation...right? Nope. Everyday more and more perish from inflammation (as the root physical cause...most see it as like heart disease, arthritis, and many, many other physical ailments), however, we sound so silly when we come out with all these new drugs to help us. The prescriptions aren't helping!! This is merely ONE aspect of the curse most wrestle with DAILY!! Have no fear a savior is here...Jesus! Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, or as Deut. 28 puts it, obey the voice of the LORD you GOD and His blessings will overtake you!

Mental, Spiritual Life Affected:

This is the unseen parts of the curse to those who are disobedient to the voice of the LORD GOD, and really is very practical to life as well. God promises:

"The LORD will strike you with madness and blindness and confusion of heart. And you shall grope at noonday, as a blind man gropes in darkness; you shall not prosper in your ways; you shall be only oppressed and plundered continually, and no one shall save you." (Deut. 28:28-29)

So there you have it, the reward of the wicked is simply the curse that God says will happen when you are not obedient to His voice.  However, as the Psalm 91:8 verse points out, to the believer is bestowed the treasure of God, thus only with his eyes will he look and see the reward of the disobedient!  So if God is the cure-all for the curse, then why aren't more people living blessed? Because they don't believe Him, and thus we establish the hardened hearts and blindness of most of humanity...but that's another post! Praise God for His grace!

Monday, November 5, 2012:

"Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.  For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.  For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake.  For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing.  Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor." (Romans 13:1-7)

This scripture reference needs no explanation as it is pretty self-explanatory and means exactly what is says!  Any thoughts?
