About

About the Blog:

Why the name "Practical Living?"  I decided to go with this name to show the practical side of Christ the savior.  What I mean is, to show Him just as He is, as the sustenance of life while not reducing any aspects of His greatness!  I chose the bible verse from John 15:5 at the header of the blog, because the meaning of this verse is very practical and highlights the answer to the question of, "Why do I need Christ?"  For the purpose of this blog I will reference bible verses in the New King James Version (NKJV), however, if you would like to see the verse in another translation, for your convenience I link all of my verses back to biblegateway.com that allows you to switch the verse to most all different translations! Thanks and I hope all who read enjoy this blog!

“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool."  (Isaiah 1:18)

About the Author:

My name is Douglas Grant, and I am simply a man who is enjoying getting to know God better and better through faith in Christ Jesus which was given to me as a gift of His salvation!  If you know what I am talking about that's great!  If all that sounds like a different language to you, that's alright, all I am saying is that I am a person with faults and God has graciously accepted me into His kingdom to live forever!  Through this blog, you will see more and more of what that means to me, and hopefully you enjoy it as well!  I have a wife and two children and currently we reside in Ohio (where my wife grew up).  I am a "southern boy" from South Alabama (close to the coastline).  I have been married for 7 years this past October and just recently got into blogging as a hobby.  I also am currently working on an ebook series that will launch soon about similar topics I will discuss on my blog, but will cover a more broad spectrum and go into further detail.  I want to encourage everyone to be as open as you want, and I will do the same.  If you don't want to be open in your comment to a post, feel free to send me a Facebook message for a confidential discussion.  Everyone who knows me, knows that I ain't got time to judge you with condemnation, nor do I believe that gets me anywhere, so please feel free to share whatever you feel necessary!  Thanks again and I hope you all enjoy reading!
